Most of our funding comes through Charity Pot, but it’s not the only way we raise funds for charities and other good causes.
Throughout the year we partner with organisations to run nationwide in-store campaigns. Our campaigns team, along with the help of our creative design team and enthusiastic shop staff, have run a variety of campaigns over the last few years, including animal testing, packaging, shark finning (Sea Shepherd), palm oil (Sumatran Orangutan Society/ Rainforest Foundation), climate change (Climate Rush), vegetarianism (Animal Aid) and the right to a fair trial for detainees (Reprieve). The organisations we work with to run these campaigns tend to be a little bigger than our Charity Pot charities.
Our 89 stores around the UK and Ireland are the perfect way of reaching thousands of people; we use our windows to grab people’s attention and lure them in to find out more! We work with organisations to help them raise awareness of their cause and also often create limited edition products so we can help raise some funds for them too. We donate the entire proceeds of the limited edition product (less the VAT which we have to give to government) to the organisation. We often donate the proceeds from the Charity Pot sales for the week the campaign is running to the organisations as well.
We sold Shark Fin Soap to raise funds for Sea Shepherd, Guantanamo Garden Ballistic for Reprieve, Chox Away Soap for Climate Rush and most recently Jungle Soap for the Rainforest Foundation.
