HsaLogoA note from the Hunt Sabateurs Association about the support from the Lush Charity Pot:-

A big thank you to all at Lush for donating £3295 from sales of the Charity Pot over the last year.

Your kind donation has helped hunt saboteur groups maintain their vehicles which keeps them in the fields where they can directly save hunted animals. Vehicle repairs, MOTs and road tax costs have all been eased with Lush money. The Charity Pot has also allowed groups to be more effective with the purchase of three new video cameras which help us to gather evidence of illegal hunting. You also helped launch a new anti shooting campaign with the printing of 10,000 leaflets to educate the public on the horrors of shooting and intensive rearing.

We cannot begin to thank you, your staff, supporters and your customers for buying the Charity Pot. It means so much to know with your support, we can continue fighting the cruelty and persecution that hunting perpetuates in our countryside.

I’d just like to register the fact I disagree with this. I hope you will include this post in the interests of free speech.

  3. Keep up the good work! The hunting fraternity have consistantly refused to abide by the spirit of the Hunting Act, using every loophole that they can find (poor piece of legislation, needs to be looked at!) in order to continue with their sordid activities. As a horsewoman myself their claims that those who are against hunting are ‘townies’ who do not understand the countryside are just ridiculous. The hunting community changes its argument to suit the occasion – sometimes they claim they kill very few foxes, only the sick and old, next moment they assert that the hunt is an efficient form of ‘pest’ control. They argued jobs would be lost – in fact drag hunts are thriving, with people who would not have ever considered fox hunting now enjoying a safe, planned chase after a human dragging a scent!
