One of SCAN’s main campaigns for the last year or so has been on local transport. They campaign for greater investment in sustainable transport in Swindon, by working with other local groups and lobbying the Council.
SCAN produced a detailed response to Swindon Borough Council’s 20 year vision for transport, working with a coalition of local groups they drew up an alternative ‘Community Vision’. You can read more here:

A second strand of this campaign was to organise a street party to coincide with a local transport consultation. Andy from SCAN said “This was a fantastic event and deemed a huge success by everyone who attended. The Council said it was the best response for a consultation they have ever had, and we hope to hear in the next few weeks what local (traffic-calming) measures are going to be introduced“.
Some of the Lush donation was used to cover costs of the street party, the photos of which are here: www.swindonclimate.org.uk/GoddardStreetParty2007
